Product Fruits publishes its whole ladder, behind a slider rather than in a table. At 1,500 monthly active users, Starter is $149 a month billed monthly or $111 billed annually, Pro is $249 or $187, and Business is $499 or $374. At 20,000 users the same three tiers are $499, $649 and $1,599 billed monthly, or $373, $487 and $1,199 billed annually. The published steps stop at 20,000, and the slider offers 50k and 100k+ above that.

Being able to read that ladder before you talk to anyone is worth something, and most of this category does not offer it. What surprises people later is not the price. It is that two different meters run at the same time.

You are limited by users and by what you build

Each tier caps the content as well as the audience. Starter allows 15 tours and guides, 50 hints and tooltips, 2 onboarding checklists, 3 custom segments and 3 active knowledge sources. Pro raises that to 100 tours, 500 hints, unlimited checklists, 20 segments and 10 knowledge sources. Business is unlimited on tours, hints and checklists, with unlimited segments and 100 knowledge sources. The AI conversation allowance scales with your user step as well: 20 a month for Starter at 1,500 users, 200 a month at 20,000.

So there are two ways to outgrow your plan, and they are unrelated to each other. A product with 1,200 users and a thorough set of tooltips can hit the 50-hint ceiling on Starter while using a fifth of its user allowance. The team that does the most careful work reaches the next tier first.

Above your user quota the behaviour is gentle, and worth knowing: their FAQ says the product keeps working for users above the quota and that customer service will get in touch about a plan that fits better. You are not cut off, you are called.

Most of this category meters both. HelpHero is the notable exception on the content side, with unlimited tours and unlimited seats on every plan, and the cheapest published ladder. We are the exception on the user side, because nothing of ours runs in your product, so there is no one for us to count. Why in-app help vendors charge per MAU explains why that follows from the architecture rather than from generosity.

Which alternative fits which reason

You hit the content ceiling, not the user ceiling. Look at HelpHero first: unlimited tours and hints at $55 a month billed monthly for 1,000 users, rising to $299 at 20,000. If you need a knowledge base as well, UserGuiding includes one from Starter, at $174 a month billed yearly.

You want the help text out of the tool entirely. The tours stay where they are, and the explanatory text moves to a system built for content: topics with steps and warnings, edited by whoever answers the questions, fetched by your own components by key. That is what we do, at a price that does not move with your user count.

You want fewer bills, not different ones. Count what you are paying for the same knowledge today: the onboarding tool, the help centre, and the strings still in your repository. One content system can feed all three surfaces; how to manage in-app help sets out what that costs in integration work.

When Product Fruits is the right choice

Stay when onboarding is the job and someone without developer access has to do it: tours placed on real elements, checklists, hints, and a knowledge base in the same tool, at an entry price well below most of this category. If your content fits inside the plan caps, it is a good deal and this page is not an argument against it.

Reconsider when the ceiling you keep hitting is the content one, or when the text that matters most is not a tour at all but the sentence next to the field.
